Tuscola cross country opened its season at the Watermelon Run in Cullowhee on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

The girls team finished second and had two individuals, Alesea Caldwell (sixth) and Stephanie Jimenez (eighth) place in the top 10.

“Both teams raced tough and executed the plan well,” said Tuscola head coach Will Norris. “The girls finished runner-up as a team and placed two individuals in the top 10. I couldn’t be more proud of the guts everyone showed.”

Tuscola’s next meet will be at the White Squirrel Classic in Brevard on Sept. 18.
