Don West, a resident of Trophy Club, Texas, hit a hole-in-one on Springdale Golf Course at Cold Mountain on Saturday, Aug. 24.
Using his seven iron on Springdale’s third hole, West launched the ball 156 yards from the pin to the hole. His perfect shot earns him entry into the Carolina Golfers Association Hole-in-One Club, Titleist Hole-in-One Club and National Hole-in-One Registry.
“I am enjoying the moment and the swing, moment of discovery and the celebration with 15 of my best golfing friends,” West said via email. “Truly a bucket list item for any golfer.”
Springdale Country Club, founded in 1968, is home to a 6,800-yard golf course that meanders through the valley bordering the east fork of the Pigeon River, overlooking Sugar Top, Rocky Face, Cold Mountain and other iconic mountains outside of Canton.
