The event is part of Haywood Waterways’ “Get to Know Your Watershed” series of outdoor recreation events. The organization works to maintain and improve Haywood County’s waterways through education, public events, and partnerships that bring technical and financial resources to reduce nonpoint source pollution and restore degraded waterways.
Boats, paddles and life jackets will be provided by the Waynesville Recreation Center, but guests are welcome to bring their own equipment. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Light refreshments will be provided.
The event is free for Haywood Waterways members and a $5 donation for nonmembers; memberships start at $25. Space for each tour is limited to 14 individuals.
