Tyler Shuler, 30, of Bryson City, earned a rare golf achievement.
On Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, at about 2 p.m., Shuler scored a Double-Eagle on the Maggie Valley Club golf course, Hole 18, a 518-yard long par 5. Shuler scored 2. A double-eagle — sometimes called an albatross — is much rarer than a hole-in-one.
Shuler was walking the course, unaided by a golf cart.
