Fishing Tournament

This year’s PASS (Public Athletes Supporting Schools) fishing tournament, held Saturday, June 20, at Lemmons Branch of Fontana Lake was a success.

The tournament, with 20 boats entered, raised $600 apiece for the Pisgah and Tuscola fishing tournament. Alan Rogers and Tim Manuel of Whittier, took first place and $300, along with the big fish award (12 pounds, 32 ounces) for an additional $100.

Winners:

1st Place ($300) Alan Rogers and Tim Manuel

2nd Place ($150) Hunter Trull and Carter Lanning

3rd Place ($100) Chad Lanning and Billy Sutton

4th Place ($85) Will Warren and Dennis “Punkin” Clark

5th Place ($65) Bobby Knight and Sandee Sogel

Tournament organizer Doug McCracken thanked those responsible for making the tournament happen this year despite the COVID-19 pandemic, noting their valuable support.

“It was really special to me,” McCracken said. “I’ve done it for 17 years and I didn’t want to miss a year. I just want to keep doing it until I can’t do it anymore.”
