FUN — Prior to COVID, one of the recreational offerings by Haywood County Recreation was a bi-monthly pick-up croquet game at Allens Creek Park.

A public survey is being conducted to help craft a master plan for recreation in Haywood County, in conjunction with Canton, Clyde, Maggie Valley, Waynesville and Lake Junaluska.

Haywood County’s recreation master plan dates to 2007 and is being updated. The survey, along with upcoming public meetings, will help define short-term and long-term strategies for recreation development in Haywood County. Community and public input are essential to the master plan process, which will help the county pursue grants and other funding opportunities.

Two public meetings will be held at later to-be-determined dates.

The survey takes less than 10 minutes. The online survey is at www.surveymonkey.com/r/HaywoodCoRecSurvey.
