Appalachian woman spring water

Learn about the incredible contributions of Appalachian women during a Blue Ridge Parkway ranger at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 16, at the Folk Art Center along the Parkway in Asheville.

The ranger talk will span the stories of the Cherokee War Women, enslaved women, midwives, and the women of today who have shaped Appalachia and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The talk is part of weekly series held every Friday evening this summer at the Folk Art Center.

The program will be held outdoors, so bring a blanket or chair. No restrooms will be available.
