Winston R. Gaddy, 78, of Waynesville, passed away on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Winston was born in Haywood County on Oct. 24, 1943, to the late Robert Lee Glenn Gaddy and Ida Mae Crayne Gaddy Mashburn.

Winston served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from Dayco and MB Haynes. He was an avid Jeep enthusiast. He was also a member of Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church.

Winston had several strong beliefs. They were as follows, A Man’s Word is His Bond, Every Job Should Be of Quality and Is a Self Portrait of a Man/Himself. He loved the Lord and his family with all of his heart.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 47 years, Roberta Pearl Adams Gaddy; son, Weston (Wendy S.) Gaddy; daughter, Nacoe (Gary) Gentry; brothers, Chester Gaddy and Alva Gaddy; seven grandchildren, Auston (Tatiana) Gaddy, Allison (Matt) Weaver, Ashley (Keith) Waters, Michael (Holli) Cranford, Brennan Smith, Cora Gentry, Emma Gentry, and Hannah Ferguson; and two great grandchildren, Grayson and Braydon Gaddy and three lifelong friends, Curt Furtado and Richard Lacy and the late Conley Galloway.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, in the Chapel of Garrett Funeral Home

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Friday from noon to 2 p.m.

Burial with military honors will be held at Ratcliffe Cove Cemetery following services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ratcliffe Cove Cemetery.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Gaddy family.
