CANTON — During this blessed Thanksgiving season, we give thanks for the life of Teddy Reeves Mann, age 76, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, and we rejoice that he is in his Heavenly home on this day.

Teddy was born July 1, 1945, in Haywood County to the late Madison Roosevelt Mann and the late Flora Sanford Mann. He had made his home among the mountains that he loved all of his life and Teddy was well-known throughout the community as a man blessed with a multitude of friendships that he treasured throughout his life journey.

Mr. Mann had honorably and faithfully served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran. He had been employed at American Enka Corporation for eight years before entering the timber industry that he greatly loved, having owned and operated Mann Logging for more than 40 years.

It was said by many of the loggers in our area that Teddy Mann was indeed the best at what he did each and every day.

During his later years, Teddy was the manager of Sandy’s Car Wash in Canton where he enjoyed seeing many of his old friends and always making new acquaintances. His visits to Hardees, Black Bear Café, and Bojangles kept him busy most days and his friendly presence will be deeply missed by everyone.

He was an avid race car fan and followed all of the NASCAR races. Teddy loved his family with all his heart and soul. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he enjoyed life’s greatest gift- the simple pleasures of time spent with family. Teddy Reeves Mann was truly a good man.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Price Mann, and several brothers and a sister.

Surviving are his sons, Danny Mann and Celeste of Canton, and Scott Mann and Amanda of the Crabtree Community; his grandchildren, Daniel Mann and Christine, Sawyer Mann and Savannah, and Matthew Mann; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Jack, and Lacey; a sister, Hilda Long; and his brothers, Kermit and Porter Mann.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, in the chapel of Crawford/Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Pastor Roy Kilby will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the memorial service.
