CLYDE — Mary Elizabeth Dills Moore, 64, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Mary was born in Buncombe County but raised in Haywood, and was a daughter of the late James Garland and Helen Ward Dills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Moore; two sisters, Barbara Banks and Debbie Rumbough; and a grandson, Dakota Moore. Mary was a faithful member of Center Pigeon Baptist Church helping in the kitchen. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Mary was a collector of Santa’s and cows, especially local Jersey cows. She was an excellent cook, able to make anything and everything.
She is survived by a daughter, Angela Moore of Clyde; two sons, Wesley Moore of Clyde and Ronnie Moore of St. George, South Carolina; three sisters, Sarah Ferguson, Juanita Putnam and Rhonda Dills; seven grandchildren, Austin Moore, Cheyenne Moore, Kali Conover (Harlie), Bobby Lee Burgess (Amy), Jennifer Waldrop (Jeshua), Caitlin Fullbright (Daniel), and Erica Warren (D.J.); and four great-grandchildren, Brantley Sims, Charlie Burgess, Haven Marsh and Draco Sheehan.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Center Pigeon Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Poole, the Rev. Scottie Rollins and the Rev. Allan Blanton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:15 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
