Estelle Bessie Timbes, 101, of Clyde, North Carolina, passed away on Jan. 3, 2021. She was b orn on Feb. 20, 1919, in Granville County, North Carolina to her late Father Luther Matthews and Mother Bessie Medlin Matthews.
Estelle enjoyed attending church and fellowshipping with her friends. Estelle also enjoyed running her tourist home in Waynesville, Hilltop Tourist Home, for 36 years, and also enjoyed being a Registered Nurse in her early years, and working for Wellco. She was a faithful member to Hazelwood Baptist Church of Haywood County.
In addition to her parents, Estelle is preceded in death by first husband Theodore Bradford Stackpole, and second husband Gilliam F. Timbes. Estelle was the last living sibling of 13 brothers and sisters; sons Robert Lee Stackpole, and Billy Frank Stackpole; stepson Richard B. Stackpole; granddaughter Cassandra Stackpole.
Estelle is survived by son Charles Edward Stackpole of Clyde; stepdaughter Norma Evans of Leverett, Massachusetts; and five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, at 3 p.m. at Garrett Funeral Home with Pastors Tim Lolley and Charles Dean officiating, and family Pastor Theodore Bradford Stackpole. Visitation will be two hours prior at 1 p.m. at Garrett Funeral Home. Burial will follow funeral service at Garrett Hillcrest Cemetery.
