CANTON — Carolyn Hill Simerly, a beloved special lady who was blessed with a kind and caring spirit, passed away at her home on Friday, Jan. 10, 2020.

She was born Aug. 9, 1942, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Jeff Hill and the late Irene Haire Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Edward Simerly; her brothers, Tommy, Gitter, Jeff, Biggen, Billy Dee, Dale and Hoss Hill; her sisters, LeeLee Allen and Gale Hill.

Surviving are her loving husband of 54 years, Don Simerly; a son, Jeff Hunter and his wife, Cindy; step-children, Debbie Peaden and Donnie Villines; grandchildren, Crystal Meadows, Hannah and Tyler Simerly and Emily and Jesse Carreno; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Evan Meadows and a true blessing, little baby Carreno on the way; her brothers, Dave, Wayne, Ernie and Greg Hill; a sister, Tammy Coates and also Carolyn’s beloved dog, “Flea Flea.”

Carolyn will be deeply missed by her family and all that loved and knew her. “It’s not what you take when you leave this world behind you. It’s what you leave behind you when you go!”

To honor Mrs. Simerly’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held.
