CULLOWHEE- Western Carolina University’s Office of Professional Growth and Enrichment will be offering several online professional development programs during the month of July.
The first program is a business series aimed at young professionals just starting their careers. “Driving Your Success through Effective Time Management,” will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 9.
This workshop is designed for professionals who want to improve their daily output and are open to learning about effective time management systems and improved forms of communication.
“Share Your Voice and Communicate from a Higher Place,” will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 16. Professionals who have limited experience communicating in the workplace will benefit the most from this training. During this workshop, professionals will develop basic skills in interpersonal communication and will be empowered to share ideas and speak from a higher place.
The registration fee is $49 for each workshop.
The second program consists of two half-days, focusing on project management. “The Tenets of Project Management” will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, July 21 and Wednesday, July 22.
During this program, participants will learn how to manage a project by using the five phases of project management and several other critical topics related to being a successful project manager in any industry.
The last online program of July will be “Lean” Thinking: For Products, Services and Projects of Any Type.” This training will also be held on two half-days from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, July 28 and Wednesday, July 29.
Lean is a philosophy applicable to any organization or industry. Its primary focus is to improve customer experience while reducing unnecessary clutter and process steps thereby improving customer satisfaction and employee morale.
Registration fee for both Project Management and Lean Thinking will be $249.
