A woman is behind bars after getting arrested with enough fentanyl to lead to trafficking charges.
According to a press release, at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, a Haywood County Sheriff’s Office Deputy initiated a traffic stop.
“During the ensuing investigation a consent search of the vehicle was conducted and the operator, Jessica Parker was arrested,” the release reads, noting that deputies found 21.9 grams of fentanyl.
Parker was ultimately charged with two counts of trafficking of opiates, possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule II controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle for the possession of a controlled substance.
Parker was placed in the Haywood County Detention Center pending a secured bond of $250,000.
