Police have confirmed that one person was shot at the Canton Burger King on Oct. 19.
In a press release sent out by the Canton Police Department, it is stated that two individuals were in an altercation that led to the shooting. Both people have been identified by law enforcement, but no charges have been filed.
Scanner traffic indicated that one man had been shot at least twice, once in the hand and once in the side, and was driven to the hospital in a personally owned vehicle and arrived about 10 minutes after sustaining the injuries. The press release states that that person is receiving treatment at Mission Hospital.
In addition, it was stated over the scanner that the man who fired the shots waited in his vehicle with his hands out the window until police arrived.
The Canton Police Department and the SBI are continuing the investigation.
