Charges have been filed in the death of Chloe Evans.
Nearly three weeks after the 10-month-old’s death, a Haywood County grand jury indicted Dylan Brian Green, the baby’s mother’s boyfriend, on one count of felony child abuse causing serious bodily injury.
Specifically, the indictment noted that the injuries consisted of “multiple blunt force injuries of varying ages and degrees to the child’s head, face, ears, chin, neck, torso, back, arms and legs.”
In addition, the indictment specified her injuries, which included “rib, leg, and arm fractures of varying ages, bruises, abrasions, multiple recent skull fractures, internal bleeding of the child’s brain and eyes, and the presence of alcohol and methamphetamine in the child’s body.”
The indictment reads that at the time the injuries were sustained, Green was caring for the baby.
Chloe died at Mission Hospital on the evening of July 18 after emergency services was called to her Jonathan Creek home to respond to a cardiac arrest. At that time, the responders observed several injuries. The autopsy showed Chloe’s cause of death to be a homicide.

Because the death was ruled a homicide, according to a press release sent out by the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office, more charges may be forthcoming.
