Residents along a peaceful neighborhood street in the Auburn Park area of Waynesville had a middle-of-the-night scare last week when a man went house to house attempting to kick in their doors.

Residents of Lowell Road were startled awake around 4 a.m. May 8 by the sound of someone beating on their doors. Waynesville Police rushed to the scene after receiving 911 calls and found 41-year-old Allen Hand, who was arrested on multiple attempted breaking and entering charges.
