A man already in jail on child sex abuse charges has now been indicted on several felonies related to the alleged rape of another victim.
Timothy Dewayne Connor, 49, was indicted by a Haywood County grand jury last week on the charges that pertain to an adult victim and include first-degree forcible rape and first-degree kidnapping.
The charges allege that Connor’s crimes occurred just days before he was arrested on the child sex abuse charges, back in July, for which he has been held on $250,000 bond. Those charges included one count of statutory sex offense with a child by an adult and four counts of indecent liberties with a child.
Connor has a long history of similar offenses, along with a host of violent crimes. Going back decades, he has been charged with assaults, including assault on a female, assault with a deadly weapon and assault by strangulation; child abuse; communicating threats; misdemeanor death by vehicle; and second-degree rape.
In addition, Connor was charged with assault by strangulation, first-degree forcible rape and incest in 2018 in Buncombe County — charges that were eventually dismissed in 2019.
The latest round of indictments allege that Connor did “remove [the victim] without her consent from one place to another, for the purpose of terrifying the victim,” and defendant did sexually assault [her].”
The first-degree forcible rape indictment further alleges that during the commission of that crime, Connor left the victim with “a serious personal injury,” in the form of multiple bruises on her face.
