A Waynesville man was hit with multiple charges last week following a domestic dispute that allegedly turned violent.
Dakota Davis, 30, was arrested Jan. 26 by a Haywood County Sheriff’s deputy and charged with both assault on a female, a misdemeanor, and assault by strangulation, a felony. According to court documents, Davis threw a phone and hit the victim, as well as “slapping her in the face and punching her about the body.”
In addition, it’s alleged that Davis choked the victim, leaving “marks on her neck.”
Davis also has an extensive list of past criminal charges, including communicating threats, breaking and entering, vandalism, larcenies, disorderly conduct, cyber stalking and drug charges.
Davis is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 9.
