Ingles is dolling out another across-the-board bonus to all its employees totaling $5 million to recognize the invaluable role of grocery store workers during the COVID-19 crisis. It is the second such bonus Ingles has awarded since the pandemic hit.
“We continue to meet the daily challenge of providing a safe and clean environment for our customers and associates,” said Robert P. Ingle II, chairman of the board. “Our associates have made a difference during this unprecedented time. We are incredibly proud of them and wish to show appreciation for their efforts.”
The bonus is $300 for full-time and $150 for part-time active retail, distribution and corporate associates. The bonus payment will be made by the end of July 2020.
The first bonus of the same amount, also totaling $5 million, was paid in April.
Ingles announced the hiring of 5,000 additional employees in April.
