Haywood County Schools announced that Monday, Feb. 17, and Friday, March 20, are scheduled as a regular school days.
In addition, Feb. 14, and March 13, will now be regular full school days as well, instead of half days as originally scheduled.
These changes were made to make up lost instructional time due to inclement weather due to a spate of two-hour delays, early dismissals and lost days due to both snow and flooding.
Haywood County School Superintendent Bill Nolte said the mssed days so far have not changed the scheduled school release date for 2020 from the original June 8 date. If the weather patterns continue, though, the final dismissal date could be impacted.
School closures are based strictly on student safety, he said.
