BRIDGING THE GAP — A 100-foot-long steel bridge was lowered into place by crane over Richland Creek in Waynesville this summer. The bridge sets the stage for eventual greenway expansion connecting Waynesville and Lake Junaluska.

The creation of a countywide greenway master plan has been in the works for several months and will be floated to the public next week during two feedback sessions.

Proposed future greenway routes will be unveiled during a drop-in public input session from 6–7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the Lambuth Inn at Lake Junaluska. A virtual session will be held from 6–7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29.
