SEEKING INFO — This photo, provided by the Haywood County Sheriff's Office, depicts a man deputies are searching for who allegedly pepper-sprayed a woman and a child.

The Haywood County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who allegedly pepper sprayed at least one person at the Dellwood Road Dollar General.

Deputies responded to the Dollar General June 29 to what scanner traffic referred to as a woman and a child being assaulted by a man.

According to a press release sent out by the sheriff’s office, upon deputies' arrival, the suspect left the area in a “white in color newer model van with possible front end damage.”

“Witnesses at the scene stated the van had a Virginia license plate and turned left from the parking lot, traveling toward Clyde,” the release reads. “The subject is a white male between the age 50-60 years old, thinning grey hair, wearing a white T-shirt and shorts.”

Anyone with any information is asked to please call Lt. Matt Shell with the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office at 828-356-2939.
