United Community Bank announced Mel Wilson has joined the team as branch manager for the Waynesville office.
“We’re thrilled that Mel is leading our team in Waynesville,” United Community Bank’s North Carolina Regional President John Goins said. “He is an outstanding addition to our organization, and I look forward to seeing the difference he will make for the bank and the Haywood County community.”

Wilson began his career as a teller, where he focused on customer service, operational excellence and sales. He’s also served as a universal banker, a financial center manager, and a branch manager. He has a bachelor’s degree from Wofford College, a Masters of Divinity from Duke University, and an MBA from Winthrop University.
