HCC: Agribusiness summit

FREE BUSINESS SEMINAR — HCC’s Small Business Center will hold an afternoon seminar Jan. 30.

The Small Business Center at Haywood Community College and the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) will offer a free seminar “How to Make Money on the Farm” Thursday, Jan. 30.

The event will be from 1-4 p.m. in the College’s Regional High Technology Center Auditorium.

This workshop focuses on increasing farm income through developing better business skills and by using the resources of the EmPOWERing Mountain Food Systems Program and the Small Business Center.

Current and prospective agribusinesses will have the opportunity to gather for an informative afternoon as speakers address the following topics:

• Intro to the Empowering Mountain Food System Program and the Small Business Center;

• Small Business Loan Application — 101

• Social Media Marketing;

• Sales Outlets and Channel;

• Resources and Opportunities.

Speakers include representatives of the Center for Environmental Farming Systems, tenBiz, NC Cooperative Extension, NC State Extension and NC FarmLink.
