grant money

BUSINESS LOSSES — A business recovery grant could help your business bounce back after COVID.

Attention: If your business experienced significant losses due to COVID, you could be eligible for a one-time grant from the Business Recovery Grant Program to assist with economic recovery.

There will be two types of grants available to eligible businesses that suffered an economic loss of at least 20% during the pandemic. The application period closes on Jan. 31, 2022.

A hospitality grant will be available to eligible arts, entertainment, and recreation businesses, as well as eligible accommodation and food service businesses such as hotels, restaurants or bars (NAICS codes 71 and 72).

A reimbursement grant will be available to an eligible business not classified in NAICS Code 71 and 72 that did not receive funding from other relief programs including Paycheck Protection Program, COVID-19 Job Retention Grant, and EIDL Advance.

The grant amount is either $500,000, or a percentage of economic loss demonstrated by the business; whichever is less. NCDOR will reduce grant amounts if the total amount requested exceeds authorized funds by the state of North Carolina.

After the application period ends on Jan. 31 grant amounts will be determined. All payments will be made by check and mailed to the address provided by the respective business.
