CANTON — The Canton Labor Day celebration drew thousands of people over it’s two day run.
The Monday parade was no exception. Here are a few photos for those who might have missed the fun.
HELPING OUT — Rebecca and Chuck Setzer were two of the many volunteers greeting families at the Canton Labor Day celebration last weekend.
VETERANS SPEAK UP — A veterans float was packed with flags and promoted peace as being patriotic.
ANTIQUES — There were cars and tractors of all ages in the parade, from new to antique.
AT THE HELM — Canton’s elected leaders walked the parade route, handing out candy as they went. Above are Alderman Ralph Hamlett, Mayor Zeb Smathers and Alderwoman Gail Mull.
A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING — From floats promoting unions to horse-drawn carriages, there was something for everyone during the Canton Labor Day Parade.
UNION REPRESENTATION — The Teamsters union served as grand marshal of the 2019 Labor Day parade.
COLOR GUARD — Members of the TUSCOLA JROTC marched in the parade, displaying flags for the crowd.
FAMILY TRADITION — Members of the Wilson family have gathered at the same spot for the Labor Day parade for at least 56 years.
MILL WORKERS — Retired paper mill workers Carroll Israel and Charlie McDowell were handing out coffee and doughnuts before the parade.
