During the 2020-21 school year, Tuscola Future Farmers of America (FFA) members worked hard at participating in supervised agricultural experience projects and community service projects, as well as competing in several career development events.

At the annual Tuscola FFA banquet, 19 members received their FFA greenhand degree. Nic Teague was recognized as the star greenhand.

Recipients of the Chapter FFA degree were Harlie Ferguson, Danielle Smith, Nic Teague and Luke Vaughn. Danielle Smith was awarded the star chapter farmer.

Elizabeth Ross was recognized for receiving her North Carolina State FFA degree, the highest honor the state association can bestow upon a member.

In addition, Ross was the recipient of the Chris Ferguson Award, awarded to the highest achieving FFA member annually. She was recognized for her proficiency award achievement in dairy production.

Tuscola FFA members were recognized for their achievement in several career development events in which they were federation and regional winners.

The 2021-22 FFA officers were installed at the conclusion of the banquet. Team members are: president — Danielle Smith; vice president — Nic Teague; secretary — Kari Morgan; treasurer — Payge Burress; reporter — Grace Palmer; sentinel — Ben James; chaplain — Luke Vaughn; career development teams; Dairy judging — 1st Place Federation, 3rd place Region; Meat evaluation — 1st Place Federation, 3rd place Region; Milk quality Products — 1st Place Federation, 1st Place Region, 10th Place State; Forestry; and Livestock Judging.
