SKATE — Big Brother Boards led by pro-skater Jared Lee is holding learn-to-skateboard clinics in Waynesville this summer.

Professional skateboarder Jared Lee will soon kick off the first summer skateboarding camp sessions for kids in Haywood County with Big Brother Boards Skate Camp.

The camp will be held at the Waynesville Skatepark in partnership with the Waynesville Parks & Recreation Department.

Big Brother Boards Skate Camp sessions are from 9–11 a.m. on five Saturdays: June 22 and 29, July 13 and 20 and Aug. 3. Children can attend one or more of the sessions.

The first session price is $30, which includes two hours of instruction and a Big Brother Boards Camp T-shirt. Each additional session is $25.

Big Brother Boards Skate Camp has received scholarship money from several Haywood County businesses wishing to sponsoring young skaters wishing to attend the camps — to apply for free or reduced entry to the camps, send a brief statement describing the need for financial assistance and the participant’s interest in skating to bigbrotherboardscamp@gmail.com. Businesses wishing to sponsor skaters can also contact the camp by email or by phone at 828-400-1252.
