The mission of Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation is helping Haywood County’s homeless dogs and cats find loving homes. Sometimes that involves helping animals that have medical needs beyond the ordinary vaccines and preventatives.

Established through Sarge’s, the WuzBug Fund helps special needs animals — by financially assisting with the care of special needs dogs and cats to prepare them for a forever home.

WuzBug was a sweet special needs Chihuahua, born with two legs. With the generosity of the community, WuzBug received donations to have a custom-made wheel cart to help her get around. The fund was started in memory of WuzBug, who was adopted into a happy home.

Sarge’s has held fundraisers in the past for the WuzBug Fund, including karaoke nights, to help pay for needed animal surgeries, dentals, and treatment for diseases such as heart worm, Parvo, diabetes, and skin conditions.

“The WuzBug Fund has been hit pretty hard this year, and constantly needs replenishing,” said Nancy Bulluck, Sarge’s founder and medical assistant. “We were so pleased with the success of Sarge’s popular 2020 Special Edition Dog Walk shirt on Bonfire, we decided to try another design to raise money for the WuzBug Fund.”

The new design, based on Bulluck’s photograph of WuzBug and her wheels, was brought to life in collaboration with Corrine Baker and made into the screen print by Bonfire.

The WuzBug Special Needs Fund shirts are available in several styles in multiple colors, from T-shirts to sweatshirts, for adults and children. To order, visit:
