The United Methodist Men of FUMC will sponsor its 14th annual Loaves and Fishes Dinner in the Christian Growth Center (at the corner of Academy and Tate Streets) from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday Sept. 14.
On the menu will be deep fried catfish served with spicy baked beans, homemade coleslaw and handmade hushpuppies.
Delicious desserts will be prepared by the United Methodist Women of the Church. A variety of drinks will be offered. FUMC Church youth will attend to diners and help in the kitchen.
Dinner tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 11. Special parking will be designated for takeout near the church (no drive through takeout this year). Tickets may be bought from the FUMC United Methodist Men or at the door.
As in the past every cent of profit will be used to support local missions and programs to help those in need in our community.
The Loaves and Fishes dinner has helped support Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Broyhill Children’s Home, Clothes to Kids, Haywood Christian Ministries Heating Fund, Pigeon Community Center, and Haywood Pathways, among many others.
