Keyboards After Christmas, the popular annual piano ensemble concert that is presented by First Baptist Church of Waynesville that features pianists from all over Haywood County, will be presented this year as a virtual concert.

The broadcast will take place a 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, on the Facebook and YouTube pages of First Baptist Church Waynesville.

Once again there will be four grand pianos on the stage, with 12 pianists sharing their keyboard skills. Musical selections will consist of many Christmas favorites as well as several pieces that are not associated with the Christmas season.

Each year a love offering is taken to benefit the “heat fund” of Haywood Christian Ministry. Even though the concert is not “in person,” the need for this kind of help is still great. During the concert, instructions will be given so that those who are watching can make a donation.

Pianists who are participating in this year’s concert are Renee Allsbrook, piano teacher and worship leader at Providence Church, Clyde; Diane Combs, organist at First Presbyterian Church, Waynesville; Mary Ann Cooper, organist at First Baptist Church, Waynesville and accompanist for Voices in the Laurel Youth Choir; Marna Dodson, music student at Western Carolina University and member of Long’s Chapel United Methodist Church; Jerri Meigs, music educator and member of the choir at First Baptist Church, Waynesville; Hilda Ryan, piano teacher and freelance accompanist, also a member of the choir at First Baptist Church, Waynesville; Kaye Sebastyn, retired educator and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Clyde; Kathy Sheppard, member of Canton Central United Methodist Church’s music ministry and owner of Sheppard Insurance Group; Sarah Smith, keyboard player at Pinnacle Church, Canton, and adjunct music professor at Western Carolina University; Craig Summers, chorus teacher at Pisgah High School; Saran Belle Tollison, choir member at First Baptist Church, Waynesville; and Fritzie Wise, a member of Waynesville First United Methodist Church’s music ministry and retired music educator.
