A new prayer and empowerment group will be starting in mid-January where members of First United Methodist Church, Waynesville will partner with adults at the Pigeon Multicultural Center.

The six-week study will meet on Wednesdays from 11 a.m.—12:30 p.m. at the Pigeon Center and will include a light lunch.

The group will be lead by Lin Forney, Myrtle Kinyon and Jane Baker and will explore ways for people of diverse backgrounds to partner together for empowerment and to promote literacy.

Those interested in participating can call Kinyon at (828) 231-3997 or Baker at (828) 400-001.
