For decades, the Rotary Club of Waynesville has held Christmas Blanket Drive for the benefit of clients of Mountain Projects and the tradition continues every December.
In years past, members of the Club traditionally bring blankets to an early December Club meeting and the blankets are taken to Mountain Projects. This year, primarily due to COVID-19, the organization has re-evaluated the program and expanded it into a virtual event, both for the Club and for the local community.
It will be an opportunity for everyone to contribute to a worthy cause. At Mountain Projects, there is always an acute need for blankets during the winter months.
There are two ways to contribute to the Blanket Drive. The simplest way is is purchasing a blanket on Amazon route and having it delivered to Mountain Projects (blankets), 2177 Asheville Road, Waynesville, 28786.
Be sure to include “blankets” on the first line of the delivery address. The second way is to purchase the blankets and personally deliver them to the Mountain Projects office.
Some may have “gently worn” blankets that may also be delivered to Mountain Projects. If personally delivering, tell the office that the blankets are for the Rotary Blanket Drive.
