In response to questions about how members of the community can assist in the region’s COVID-19 response, Haywood Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is requesting donations of unused and handmade cloth masks.

As part of HRMC’s efforts to optimize personal protective equipment for heroes on the front lines, HRMC is accepting donations of unused, handmade face masks for staff in non-patient-care areas and patients without COVID-19 symptoms to wear. Handmade face masks should be constructed according to CDC guidelines.

Visit (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html) for information on how to construct handmade face masks according to these guidelines, as well as other important information regarding homemade cloth face coverings.

Those with masks to donate may contact Debbie Moody at 828-452-8265 to arrange delivery. For more information, visit MyHaywoodRegional.com.
