Lake Junaluska is a wonderful place to visit and an even better place to live. It is a place of Christian hospitality, as is evident of the Junaluskans.
The group is a volunteer organization, committed to carrying out the mission of Lake Junaluska, that of transforming lives through the renewal of soul, mind and body. Everyone who lives at Lake Junaluska or loves Lake Junaluska is encouraged to become part of the Junaluskans. Monthly activities for personal enjoyment, fellowship, education and spiritual enrichment are provided for all Junaluskans.
The Junaluskans meet at 10 a.m. the first Wednesday of each month. This is a business session, where a variety of activities/programs sponsored by the Junaluskans are highlighted.
A monthly newsletter, “Lake Views and News,” is distributed at the meeting and is available online. The Junaluskans also have an email service which goes to all those who provide their email address. Junaluskans members are also listed in the Junaluskans directory.
A monthly dinner is held for the Junaluskans which includes outstanding entertainment. The dinners are January-May, September-November on the third Tuesday of the month, with a special Christmas dinner in December
The Junaluskans sponsor vesper services, book reviews, monthly fellowship groups, spring and fall chorus concerts, Clothes to Kids, support for Aviemore (an older-adult housing project), college scholarships, and the annual Flea Market in June, which is the major fund raiser.
The community is invited to join the Junaluskans. The cost is $10 per person, per year. If interested, contact The Junaluskan Treasurer, PO Box 622, Lake Junaluska, NC 28745-0622.
