This year’s Lake Junaluska clean-up efforts are changing slightly to and were designed with COVID in mind.
The event will be hosted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on two Fridays, Feb. 19 and Feb. 26 and two Saturdays, Feb. 20 and Feb. 27.
Haywood Waterways Association will helping to support the 2021 Lake Junaluska cleanup.
Participants must preregister for the event. This layout will enable volunteers to participate at different times allowing for a more socially distanced atmosphere as they pick up trash and debris along an assigned part of the lake’s shoreline.
Volunteers of all ages are invited to take part in the cleanup. HWA asks that minors are accompanied by an adult. Participants should dress warmly, bring a pair of gloves, wear closed toe shoes, and bring an extra pair of shoes in case conditions are muddy.
