The Downtown Waynesville Association announced Wednesday that the The Church Street Art & Craft Show has been cancelled.

Looking ahead, Buffy Phillips, executive director of the DWA, said the end of 2020 is going to look unlike any other, and with COVID-19 conditions evolving more and more.

"That means the guidance we must follow from city, county, state and federal health authorities will also evolve — sometimes very quickly," Phillips noted in an email. "This is our new reality. We must all be prepared for it. We have a fundamental responsibility to safe guard our community and you. We are fully committed to doing it safely, carefully and with equity and facts guiding our decision making."

Plans are being discussed to create a spring event on a Saturday filled with music and more.
