Used book bag sale

Fill a bag of used books for only $5 at the Friends of the Library bag sale starting Oct. 6.

To help clear out inventory, the Friends of the Haywood County Public Library is selling books for $5 per bag. The sale will be held for three weeks, on Wednesdays and Fridays from 1–4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting Oct. 6.

The Friends of the Library has hundreds of donated books in the library basement that will be up for grabs. The bag sale comes ahead of the Friends opening a permanent used bookstore space on Oct. 27.

Due to COVID-related health and safety restrictions, only 20 people can be in the book sale room at once, so sign-ups for hourly time slots will be required. Walk-ups may be accommodated on sale days as space allows.

Bags will be available for purchase at the Waynesville branch library circulation desk. Bags will also be available at the library table at the Haywood Historic Farmers Market on Oct. 2.

Only two bags will be permitted per person per day of the sale. Browsing is limited to no more than 45 minutes. Masks will be required in the library and in the book sale room, no exceptions.
