The HOPEful Living: Women’s Cancer Support Group will meet with guest speaker Kim Mulholland from 4 -5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Haywood Regional Fitness Center in Clyde, second floor.
Mulholland is a yoga instructor at the Haywood Regional Hospital Outpatient Center and specializes in working with individuals experiencing cancer. She provides a free yoga class for cancer survivors from 1:30-2:30 p.m. every Friday.
Mulholland will speak with the support group and demonstrate some poses so attendees can decide whether to attend her classes. After her 45-minute presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to talk and share with ‘support group sisters.’
Mulholland has lived and worked in Haywood County for more than 20 years in healthcare services. Throughout her career, she realized the need to understand how difficult experiences affect one’s body, emotions and relationships.
She has trained with renowned trauma centers and medical centers, including The Trauma Center in Boston and Duke Integrative Medicine, to bring evidenced-based supportive body based interventions for psychological trauma and cancer care.
Mulholland is passionate about her work and the people she shares life with. She is a mother of three and cherishes time with her family and four dogs.
Support group members can walk the track before or after the meeting and snacks will be served.
