The Haywood County Extension Master Gardeners are accepting applications for the 2020 Master Gardener class. Training sessions will be held Tuesday mornings from Jan. 7 — April 21, 2020.
Topics include lawns; ornamental trees and shrubs; insect, disease and weed management; soils and fertilizers; vegetable gardening; plant propagation; organic gardening; home fruit production; and landscape design principles.
Extension Master Gardener Volunteers assist the NC Cooperative Extension Service by providing research-based information to Haywood County residents about lawn, garden and landscape care, with emphasis on environmental stewardship.
The cost to cover all course materials and fees is $150. Participants must agree to volunteer at least 40 hours in our various activities in the 12 months following the class. Candidates must be residents of Haywood County.
