The Smoky Mountain Event Center is currently selling squares for its Cow Chip Bingo fundraiser, which is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.
Each square costs $20; there will be a maximum of 240 squares sold.
This fundraiser was created to help the Smoky Mountain Event Center get through the winter months which typically operate as a loss.
“With so many events cancelled, including the Haywood County Fair, we are still trying to make up for lost revenues. We have seen an increase in events, but it’s not enough to get us through winter,” said Ben Wilder, SMEC board member.
Cow Chip Bingo is a classic fundraiser that includes a cow and a few cow plops. Participants prepurchase square(s) that will be randomly assigned before the start of the event. If the cow plops in your 5 x 5 foot square first, you win $500.
The second plop is worth $250, flowed by the third plop at $125. For official rules or to purchase a square, visit the Smoky Mountain Event Center website as www.SmokyMountainEventCenter.org.
