Twenty-seven members, accompanied by friends and spouses, attended the Bethel High School Class of 1964 reunion at the historic Bethel Presbyterian Church/Bethel Community Center on Saturday, June 29.

The backdrop of historic paintings from Bethel’s past in a building that was adjacent to the location of the original Bethel School was the appropriate setting for classmates to reminisce.

Dr. J.D. Grant served as emcee, the Rev. Russell Wheeler gave the invocation, Catherine Mashburn Chambers listed acknowledgements of appreciation and Berry Rigdon read the memorial tribute.

The highlight of the evening included classmates’ comments about their favorite as well as their most embarrassing memories.

Pam Satterfield Jolly relayed these memories to the tune of hysterical laughter as well as fond recollections. Darla Smith Mathis tossed questions that received humorous responses.

Evelyn McNeil Coltman was charged with the reunion booklet. Reunion committee members included Catherine Mashburn Chambers, Evelyn McNeil Coltman, Harold Frizzell, Lowell Grogan, Dr. J.D. Grant, Judy Grogan Heatherly, Darla Smith Mathis, Eddie Morgan, Barbara Black Putnam, and Martha Grogan Wells.

The class of 1964 graduated 78 members.
