The marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Samuel Wood began on May 20, 2017. The ceremony uniting Hunter and Sarah was held at Hazelwood Presbyterian Church in Waynesville, with the Rev. Patrick Womack and the Rev. Phil Covert officiating.
Sarah Grace Wood is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Patrick Womack. Hunter is the son of Mark Wood and Karla Wood. Sarah Brinkley is the honorary mother.
Mark Wood served as the best man. The maid of honor was Sarah Grigg, and the matron of honor was Faith Womack, sister-in-law to the bride.
Bridesmaids were Mallory Bermudez, Stephanie Helms and Autumn Duffield with Kaylee Robinson as honorary attendant and coordinator. Groomsmen were Joseph Womack, brother of the bride, and Samuel Hayes, David Gilliam and Billy Hendley. The cousins of the bride, Benjamin Womack and Nathan Farley served as ushers along with Shaw Shepherd and Will Shuford. Grandparents in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Womack, and Nancy Farley.
The service was focused on bringing glory to God and proclaiming Christ as the center of their marriage. Alison Burris offered musical praise through her piano music, and well as Taylor Boyd Willoughby who took incredible photos, capturing the event.
The bride wore a full-length lace gown made of satin and tulle, with a sweetheart neckline, as well as a train and a veil with jeweled trim. She carried a bouquet of white and bicolor roses with pink and white carnations, irises, delphinium, baby’s breath and variegated pittosporum.
The bride will continue working towards her online degree in psychology and work at Smoky Mountain Roasters and the Turquoise Elephant. The groom will continue his online schooling as well as his work at Linamar in Asheville as a supervisor.
Following their honeymoon to the Gulf Coast of Florida, the happy couple will reside in Waynesville.
