Auto racing is back and drivers are hot on the trail to claim the NASCAR 2005 championship.
Champions are what the Haywood County Council on Aging is counting on as the laps count down to its fund-raising drawing on Sept. 7.
“We are dropping the green flag for all our neighboring NASCAR fans. The grand prize this year is a framed set of authentically autographed photographs of seven of NASCAR’s best drivers. And when we say the best, we mean the late Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, Jeff Gordan, Dale Jarrett, Rusty Wallace, Bill Elliot and Bobby Labonte,” said Denise A. Mathis, chief executive officer of the Haywood County Council on Aging/MARC.
The checkered flag will be proudly waved for the winner of this framed set of authentic signatures penned by the NASCAR road warriors we have cheered and watched through the years.
The Council on Aging is encouraging all race car fans to take a pole position by purchasing a ticket for the drawing at $2 each or three tickets for $5 or eight for $10. This trophy is worth in excess of $3,000.
